The City is starting to replace the static bins around the park. The only bags left are the interior trail spots and the quarry locations. I am done with the bags for another summer!

At 7:35pm today 4 RCMP cruisers were at the park questioning people, they had 2 fellows arrested. A group of males were running in fear as apparently someone was uttering death threats.

The rain was sure welcome today. Super looking clouds rolling across the sky this morning. With the warmth coming early maybe we will be able to get our park clean-up in early this year. Check in a couple of weeks. It all depends on the weather. Not ruling out on last shot of a blizzard!

Somebody dumped a chesterfield in the small parking lot on Farmers Road. The city has been contacted for removal. And people complain about our dogs, really, please spare me.

Residents invited to provide feedback on draft Recreation & Parks Strategies

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeggers can now weigh in on the proposed long-term plans for parks and recreation in our city.

Phase 2 of public engagement on Winnipeg’s Recreation & Park Strategies begins today, and residents are invited to provide feedback on draft 25-year frameworks that will guide programs, services, policies, standards and procedures, and future investment in existing and new infrastructure for both recreation and parks.

This long-term vision is important, as the City faces some difficult challenges in maintaining its aging infrastructure and making new investments to meet future needs.

Much of Winnipeg’s existing recreation and parks infrastructure is at or near the end of its useful lifecycle, and we need to find out where Winnipeggers want to see future investment. As Winnipeg continues to grow and change, the need to make strategic, forward-thinking decisions to ensure the City can deliver high-quality recreation and parks services is essential.

Residents can engage two ways: by participating in the recreation survey and parks survey until April 23, 2021 and at one of two online workshops:

For more information about the strategies, how to register for the workshops, and to access the online surveys, see: winnipeg.ca/recandparks.

If you want to watch the meeting, their presentations don't happen until 4 hours into the 6 1/2 hour meeting and then continue to watch towards the end, because that is the decisions about what is to happen. https://youtu.be/QiqzSVU7-4w . Starting at 3:59 - 4:30.

The COVID sign in the Klimpkie Parking lot has been deface. The City Graffiti team will take care of it.

One of our friends has passed away in November, Teresa Lynn Redmond passed away on November 20 2020. She loved walking her dogs at Little Mountain Park where a bench will be placed in her memory.
